US Treasury sells various Treasury Bills, Treasury Notes and Treasury Bonds to buyers across the world. The interest paid by the US Government affects the global financial markets - Bond market, Stock market, Currency market, Housing market etc. Wheras the interest for all the periods is important, the 10 year Treasury Yield holds a special importance. Often times it is used to calculate the Yield-Curve, and in general the traders use it to compare the safe return they can get using 10 year Treasuries vis-a-vis elsewhere.
